A NOTE FROM LIZZY;
I have always loved the beauty industry and have been mesmerized by it since I was a little girl. I loved flipping through magazines and looking at the models hair and makeup. In the back of mind I knew that being behind the chair was what I wanted to do.
But I pushed those thoughts aside after being told that I wouldn’t be good at it or that you can’t make a living doing hair. So after high school I enrolled in college majoring in special education. After completing almost two years of college I realized that becoming an educator and traditional college was not for me. After dropping out I started working full time in a warehouse, and worked there for almost for five years. My last year there I knew I didn’t want to work in a warehouse for the rest of my life. But what would I do? What is my passion?
Beauty. Beauty is my passion. Right then and there I decided to quit my full time job and enroll in beauty school full time. I would not have been able to make it through school without my mom by my side being my number one cheerleader! (Thank you mom!) Nearing the end of my schooling I started to think about where I wanted to start my career. I knew a traditional salon was not for me. Then I remembered Makeup By Roxy. I had met Roxy in 2013. She had done my makeup for my senior portraits and then again for prom and graduation. I remembered her energy and how kind she was. Hopping on the website, I applied and the rest is history!!
Since being hired in August of 2021, I’ve taken many bridal and styling classes! I want to offer the absolute best for my clients! In July of 2023 I received a Top 50 nomination for the Beyond the Ponytail Styling Awards in the Half Up Hairstyle category!!
I am extremely grateful be apart of such an amazing team while getting do to what sets my soul on fire. Getting to meet new and amazing people while traveling the country is a dream come true!
